Friends of Rottingdean Coast and Environment is a group which is open to anybody who cares about Rottingdean's beaches, its bathing waters, and its coastal setting. FORCE will share information and support positive action, with the aim of making Rottingdean's seaside a nicer and more accessible place to be; for everybody, all year round.
Community Consultation FORCE is supporting an application for Rottingdean beach to be designated by DEFRA as bathing waters, under the Bathing Water Regulations 2013. This means that the sea water must be regularly tested for certain bacteria and algae during the bathing season, which is from 15th May to 30th September. The information collected must also be shared with the public.
A CONSULTATION ON THIS APPLICATION WILL OPEN AT 9AM ON 11TH AUGUST 2023 AND WILL CLOSE AT 5PM ON 29TH SEPTEMBER 2023. PLEASE TAKE PART BY MESSAGING ON THE CONSULTATION PAGE OF THIS SITE. ALL THE COMMUNITY’S VIEWS WILL BE REFLECTED IN THE WRITTEN SUBMISSION TO DEFRA.
